Nafis Islam brings 17 years of experience in driving growth in social justice organizations by building partnerships with government and philanthropic donors. ​

Prior to joining VisionSpring, Nafis served as Director of Development at Imagine Worldwide, a global EdTech non-profit. In this capacity, he successfully built philanthropic partnerships that enabled the expansion of programs across seven Sub-Saharan African countries, including a nationwide campaign in Malawi.​ 

Nafis also served as the Senior Director of Development at CARE, a global development and humanitarian organization. During his tenure at CARE, he managed the development of new programs funded by the US Government and philanthropic institutions. Nafis managed CARE’s food and livelihoods new business portfolio and collaborated with over 60 country offices worldwide. ​

He holds a Master’s degree in Public Policy from American University and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Lake Forest College. He was born and raised in Bangladesh and currently resides with his family in New Jersey. ​
