Special Assistant to the Founder and President

Claire McGuinness is a recent graduate of Seton Hall University, where she received a B.S. in International Relations with minors in French and Economics. Over the past few years, she has had the opportunity to intern at the Clinton Global Initiative University, Advancing Human Rights, and Obama for America. Claire loves to read, travel, rock climb, and get regular check-ups at her optometrist!

What’s your first memory wearing glasses?

After my third grade teacher noticed me squinting at the board, she sent me in for an eye exam. I couldn’t believe how clearly I could see afterwards!

What excites you most about VisionSpring?

I love how sustainable the model is; selling inexpensive glasses is so much more effective over the long run than giving pairs away for free.

What’s your favorite VisionSpring glasses style?

Gun Photochrome

Favorite quote

“The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart.” – Helen Keller

Favorite place to travel and why

Most of my extended family lives in Ireland. I usually travel there about once a year to catch up and drink tea!
